DISCOVER CENTRO PIACENTINIANO

The project “Discover Centro Piacentiniano – guided tours and itineraries into the heart of Bergamo” is created in collaboration with TMedia Lab in order to reveal the magnificence of Centro Piacentiniano, heart of Bergamo Bassa, central area with historical, architectural, cultural, symbolic and strategic value.
The project foresees three tourist itineraries; all the itineraries have Centro Piacentiniano as their fulcrum.

By departing from Piazza Dante and walking around the nearby streets, you can admire buildings designed by the Roman architect Piacentini, such as: Banca d’Italia, Palazzo di Giustizia, I Due Cortili, Camera di Commercio, Unicredit bank. By turning towards the iconic Quadriportico, you overlook the Sentierone where the inhabitants of Bergamo use to meet and have a walk and which brings you to the Torre dei Caduti, the symbol of the City and the distinctive feature of Centro Piacentiniano.

Departing from Centro Piacentiniano, the focal point of the modern city, you can choose to visit two historical districts located on the East and on the West side of the old city fair, respectively: Borgo Pignolo and Borgo San Leonardo. Aristocratic and refined the first one, folk and animated the second one, both imprinted with the centuries-old character they still maintain.

You will also be able to visit the Churches of San Bartolomeo, Santo Spirito (Tour B) and Sant’Alessandro in Colonna (Tour C), compatible with the opening times and the religious functions.
